TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Unless agreed otherwise by both parties, the vehicle must be picked up and returned to King Toyota Lower Hutt or Upper Hutt.

All vehicles come with a standard kilometre allowance of 50km per day. If the kilometre allowance is exceeded, additional charges of $0.12 including GST per km over will be applied.

Smoking is not allowed in the vehicle

Pets/Animals are not allowed in the vehicle unless previously authorised by King Toyota in writing.

The vehicle shall not be driven off-road.
Payment
-
Payments are to be made in advance, prior to the rental period commencing.

There is no deposit required to make your booking.

Our payment methods include; Visa/MasterCard credit (2% fee applies for credit card transactions only), debit cards or internet banking.

A credit card is required to secure the booking and the card details will be kept by King Toyota for a period up to 2 months in case fines are received and not paid.
Fuel

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and accordingly, all vehicles must be returned with a full tank of fuel. If the vehicle is returned without a full tank of fuel, the hirer is liable for the cost of the fuel.
Extra Fees

If the vehicle is returned in an excessively dirty condition, a $180 including GST grooming fee will be applied.

The driver will be liable for any fines if there were any.
Insurance

Vehicle Insurance is included in the price. Conditions vary depending on the driver’s age and licence status. Please contact us for details.

Only the person identified as the driver and insured shall drive the vehicle and will obey to all traffic rules.

The hirer is fully liable for the full replacement cost in the event that any of the accessories detailed on the Rental Agreement are lost, stolen or damaged.
Mechanical maintenance

Vehicle is to be returned in ‘fair wear and tear condition’, any other reconditioning to be done at the customers cost. Should a dispute arise around reconditioning, a third party will determine what is deemed ‘fair wear and tear’.

In case of long-term leases, the hirer shall take all reasonable care to ensure that the vehicle is properly maintained during the hire period. If the vehicle has any mechanical failures during the hire these issues must be reported to the King Toyota as soon as possible in order to give King Toyota the opportunity to rectify the issues. The hirer is not entitled to any refund unless King Toyota has been advised of the issue and has been given the opportunity to rectify the situation. A refund can be requested from King Toyota if a breakdown has directly caused a delay in travel in one location of 48 hours or more. King Toyota is not liable for any delay in repair caused by a breakdown occurring on a weekend or public holiday.
Data collection

King Toyota has the right to collect information on the hirer. King Toyota has the right to retain such information and has the right to use said information at its own discretion.

Your details are held by King Toyota to enable us, Toyota Finance New Zealand Limited and Toyota New Zealand to communicate with you about Toyota products and services.
Cancellation

There are no cancellation fees.

King Toyota reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions, vehicle specifications and tariffs at any time without prior notice. King Toyota reserves the right to refuse any rental at its own discretion.
